Overcome Mental Problems
with Our Psychological Testing Programs
|
Pinpoint the cause of your frustrations when you request the clinical counseling services offered by Hope Counseling. Our family counselors are always willing to provide hands-on psychological testing services to individuals and families who require in-depth counseling assistance. Contact us today to arrange a helpful initial consultation. Psychological Testing The usefulness of psychological testing depends not only on the test being given, but also the willingness of the person being tested to be truthful and honest in their answers. The test by itself assesses and evaluates the information being provided; therefore, at some level it is only as accurate as that information. In conjunction with a clinical interview, a professionally trained psychologist can identify inconsistencies in responses and pinpoint problems. Approaching any psychological test carefully and seriously will ultimately help the counselor help you. |

Achievement and Aptitude Testing Our counselors will administer the Wechsler Individual Achievement Test (WIAT-II), a test that is generally used for educational and employment purposes. Achievement and aptitude tests attempt to measure how much you know about a given subject or your capacity for learning that subject, such as spelling or math.
Intelligence Testing To determine intelligence, we use the Wechsler Intelligence tests (WIPPSEY), (WISC-IV), (WAIS), and the Vineland Adaptive Functioning system. Sometimes referred to as an "IQ" test, these tests attempt to measure your basic ability to understand the world around you, interpret its meaning, and apply this knowledge to enhance the quality of your life. It is a measure of your potential to learn, not how "smart" you are. The test used is generally determined by the age and functioning of the client.

ADHD Testing We use the Connors II system for ADHD testing. This objective test helps to determines if disruptions in functioning are related to ADHD or if it can be ruled out as the diagnosis.
Personality Testing The most used personality tests are the Millon (MCMI-III) and the MMPI-II tests. These tests are designed to identify your personality style and any possible disorders or other psychological issues. These tests can be extremely helpful for clinical diagnoses.
Clinical Testing Clinical tests are used to measure specific clinical issues, including anxiety, depression, anger, malingering, addictions, or autism.
